Troubleshooting: What happens when my Brightspace site is cancelled?

Introduction

If a course is cancelled, Brightspace will not process roster deletions in order to prevent the risk of losing or orphaning course offerings. That said, if we know a course will be cancelled, Digital Innovation and Learning can pre-emptively remove the roster from the site in advance which will preserve the site.

Note: The course will not disappear if the course is cancelled; however, the Instructor WILL be removed when the roster is removed. A DIL member will need to add the Instructor back to the course.

Resources

Steps (to be completed by DIL)

  1. Log in to NYU Brightspace.
  2. Select Create Course Site

  3. Select View/Edit Requested Sites

  4. Select the trashcan icon next to the course listing to remove the roster
